CALS or Human Ecology

I have been trying to decide between CALS and Human Ecology for the last two weeks. I was wondering if anyone could tell me about the importance each places on research. Between the two colleges, I have only found that Human Ecology strictly states on their site that they want to know about research interest. Is CALS focused on freshman research aswell?

In addition, I am interested in biology/ environmental science research, would it be better for me to apply to CALS since they have more environmental orientated majors or Human ecology with biology? I know that biology is a popular major at CALS, is it popular in Human Ecology as well? Would I be better off applying with something Environmental? Is that less popular?

Also....I know this is a stupid question, but I cant not ask....which is easier to get into? I know that both are more major oriented and look at essays..but where would I have a better chance?

what do you mean about hum ec wanting to know baout research interest........where do they wanna hear about it??

On the Human Ecology website, under the admissions section, there is a paragraph about how students who are interested in research should include it in their application. I am guessing it would be in the essay.

"There are a number of key pieces that the Admissions Committee considers when reviewing freshmen applications including

Fit/match with the College of Human Ecology and at least one of its programs "

If you think you fit more wit Hum Ec...apply. But I would say go for the one you think you are more interested in.
