CALS Rolling Decision Info

I just called CALS and asked about RD. They are doing it differently this year. They mailed out the first batch this week, and will mail out no more decisions until 3/31. The woman on the phone informed me that no one will find out their decision online until 3/31, and that the early ones will only be through snail mail.

So, keep watching your mailbox, CALS applicants, and please let us know...

well that's strange because i just called too and the woman on the phone said they will be sending them out sporadically as the application decisions are made. She said we could all hear as soon as this week or anytime hereafter....cornell is very confusing

I just called and the lady said that all ADMIT letters were mailed out yesterday...AGHHHHHH

i have a friend applying to cals and i'm doing engineering. i use to think she was lucky with the rolling but this indecision is worse!

WHAT?! All admit letters were sent out yesterday!? So if we don't get a letter today/tomorrow, we don't get in?

Edit: I just called. The woman told me that letters were sent out yesterday, but it doesn't mean that if you don't get one, that you weren't admitted. They sent letters out yesterday, and will be sending them again on the 31st. Nothing in-between. So don't freak if you didn't get anything yet!

good luck guys!!! hope to be talking to some of you at CALS Cornell Days events...although you won't know who I am :-)

Does anyone know how this works with the primary/alternate option? I applied to CALS as my alternate college.

If you were not accepted at your first choice college then your application would be forwarded to CALS....and you would hear from them when a decision is made...that could be now in this 1st batch or on the 31st.

However...be warned: I was speaking with an associate director of admissions when I was at the office the other day and he said that if CALS was your secondary college...they will only look at your app if you fit with CALS admissions criteria. So..if you applied to CALS just to have a "2nd shot" and they can tell...they will not look at your app....they've just got too many.

Someone I know from a nearby school got an acceptance letter from Cornell today, and I think she applied to CALS. Hopefully more people on this board will also hear today or tomorrow--good luck to you! I'm stuck until the 31st with Hum Ec...

This is my first post:-)- I'm really nervous for decisions!

I wonder how many admit letters Cornell sent out yesterday. What proportion of acceptances do you think will be offered in the letters received this week for CALS?

Does anyone know what the envelope will look like- big or small?

unless it's changed....you get two small envelopes...1 from Cornell and 1 from the college you were admitted to....the massive packet comes later

Ty so much

for ED [i was accepted] i only got one envelope and it was only slightly larger than a normal envelope. definitely not the big one.

the big one is called the "Case for Cornell"....it has tons of info about housing/dining...all that good stuff

congrats on being accepted!! I just want the decision to be here for better or worse lol- thanks for the envelope info. too!

what about engineering school? were these also mailed out today?

I don't think engineering is rolling...

anyone here get their decision today from cals? i'm just wondering since i know some ilr kids got their decisions today
