I'm currently thinking about applying to Cornell CALS as a transfer, but I'm not sure if I'd be competitive enough. What is a competitive GPA for transfering to CALS? Is admission easier as either an environmental engineering or Science of Natural and Environmental Systems major, compared to more popular major like biology? How much does it help to be a New York resident? Is admission easier as a transfer compared to freshman admission? Anyone have any advice as a CALS transfer? I'd really appreciate it if anyone could offer any input...

I assume you go to BC? I am transferring to Cornell this fall from BC and had a 3.9, though I was a guaranteed transfer. I do know someone who applied to Cornell CALS from BC with 3.4 and didn’t get in, I also know someone with a 3.7 who applied to Cornell A&S and didn’t get in…I’m not really sure what their majors were exactly but both were something science-related. The admissions rate for CALS as a transfer is significantly higher but it also includes the 100+ guaranteed transfers so I would probably say that the level of difficulty it probably the same/slightly easier.
