CalSO and FPF?

Hey I’m sorry if this has been answered before but I have searched for CalSO threads and have not found an answer.

Now I realize that for spring admits the CalSO is in October…but

When do we sign up for classes in FPF? Is there something similar to CalSO for people in FPF?

Are the sign-ups for FPF on a first-come first-serve basis? And are the sign-ups really competitive?

What’s the difference between Fall extension program and Freshman extension program?

From that website you can find out everything you need to know about how CalSO, FPF, and your spring admission all come together.

I heard CalSO for FPF isn't that important since no class registration is needed.

wow vicissitudes is a soon-to-be fpf student?!?!
i always thought he was a senior at cal already or something since he knows like everything there is to know about anything haha

I thought FPF = CalSO, which is just that thing for incoming freshmen where they spend one night in the dorms, talk with people about campus life, classes, etc. and you sign up for classes. Isn't that what it is? I'm so confused by this line:

Is there something similar to CalSO for people in FPF?

Because I thought the two were the same. I signed up for June 11-12 CalSO where I spend the night there, and I'm guessing I sign up for classes (CORRECT?). But this doesn't mean I'm not in FPF (Fall Program for Freshmen)?

There are two CalSo's for spring admits. If you signed up for FPF (which is the same thing as fall program for freshman, freshman extension program, or simply extension) then you have a Calso in mid-July.

Firax is right that you don't sign up for classes there but it's still a good opportunity to meet people, get your id and bus pass, and get to know the campus.

If you are not signed up for FPF and are coming to Cal in the Spring, there is a CalSo in October.

How do you guys get CalSo so early? Do your schools let out in May? My school doesn't get out until mid-June, so I signed up right after I graduate. I'm nervous that everyone will have already gone to CalSo and gotten their classes and I'm still in school!

I'm still confused. What about for Fall admits? I'm a Fall admit, so which CalSOs can I sign up for? I signed up for one on June 11-12, but I don't know if that is "CalSO" or "CalSO - FPF."

Beatchick - The last day of school for seniors at my high school is the 23rd. For all other students, school usually ends late May or very early June.

d=] ,

vicissitudes's post is actually from more than a year ago, so he/she's probably going to be a sohpmore in the fall?

If we sign up for classes at CalSO, and if your CalSO is before July 1st, what happens if you sign up for a class that you can't take yet because you didn't score well enough on the AP exam (Like signing up for Math 1B at CalSO, but finding out that you got a 2 on the Calculus AB exam; what happens then?)?

You're suppose to guess you score, and then afterwards change classes if necessary.

ohh good point, lilacsnake...i didn't even notice that date
