CalSo-Coalition for Excellence and Diversity in Mathematics, Science, and Engineering?

When I logged onto CalSo to sign up, I got the following:
"You are a Coalition Scholar!
Congratulations! You have been nominated to participate in the Coalition for Excellence and Diversity in Mathematics, Science, and Engineering. You should try to attend one of the Coalition orientations listed below, and then also sign up for the Post-CalSO Coalition Session to learn more about the additional programs and services available to you."

Does this mean anything? I'm pretty confused to why I got this as well.

They send it to all/some? math science and engineering students even if they are not URMs. If you are a URM you may want to go to one of the these designated sessions. You are welcome to go even if you are not a URM. Because of Prop.29 the university must make it’s URM programs available to everyone. I spoke with Berkeley about this. You can go to CALSO on a coalition date either way. There is an additional info session for coalition scholars on those days that can be attended if you so choose.

This also applies to females in math, science, and engineering programs.
