Do people bring suitcases to CalSO, or is it enough just to have a backpack to carry your change of clothes, etc?

since you are only staying one night, a backpack will do…some people may bring small suitcases if they are from out of state, but it mostly depends on how much stuff you are really going to need…(not very much, reallly)

all right, thanks

It’s an overnight trip. The first thing you do is get a room key and the chance to drop your stuff off, so you needn’t worry about having to lug stuff around. I brought a suitcase with clothes and toiletries and a backpack to carry around during day.

It’s a matter of personal preference.

I took a small canvas bag, and when I went to my room after check in I put my clothes and makeup, contact solution, etc on my bed but I kept the emptyish bag for the rest of the day. It was good because they give you a ton of papers and stuff, so you can put them away, but you don’t have to drag everything around.

^^ How did you check into your room? Do you have to sign up for it beforehand?

When you get there in the morning there is a separate table from check in, where they are passing out keys.

wait, do each of us get individual rooms?

No, you meet your roommates when you get there. They pretty much pass out the keys in order that you arrive, and your roommates will be the people that arrive at the same time you do (or directly before or after).

you don’t need a sleeping bag, in case any of you were wondering.

Do you need blankets for the bed?

This should be on the calso site. No they provide blankets, a pillow, two towels, and 1 wash cloth.
