CalSO questions

Two questions:
How many of you went with parents?

What did you take with you?

I would recommend not taking anyone (if money is at all an issue). They charge way too much for it considering all they're doing is consolidating services you will always get, such as advisors and career counseling, into one day where someone just tells you where to go. Also, you get a free $6.25 meal to help off-set the hundred or so dollars you spent on CalSo.

For the record, it seems to me most universities do this (charging way too much for orientation). My wife got into USC and she spent $100 on each of us to attend a one day orientation. I'm sure it's a similar situation where they point you towards services that will always be available during the entire year.

What did I take with me? Hell if I know. I can't imagine needing anything special unless they tell you to bring it.
