For the long distance people among us, what are the travel arrangements to and from San Francisco for orientation? When should you fly in (a day before your session)? Do you need to grab a taxi or will there be shuttles darting around to and from campus?

From what I've seen the easiest thing to do is fly into Oakland and take the BART to within a few blocks of campus. I'm going to fly in the afternoon before and stay for an extra night before it starts.

Yeah I looked into BART and apparently the Downtown Berkeley station is really really close to campus.

Transportation to CalSO from local airports:

If you're flying into Oakland (OAK):

Take the AirBart (right outside the terminals)

From the Oakland Coliseum Station (AirBart drops you right off in front of the station), you need to take the Richmond Line to Berkeley.

Get off at the Downtown Berkeley stop.

You can take the bus (bus line 51) or you can walk about 10 min.

If you're flying into San Francisco (SFO)
1. The BART station goes directly to SFO.
2. Take the Dublin/Pleasanton train to Balboa Park
3. Transfer at Balboa Park on to the Richmond Train.
4. Get off at Downtwon Berkeley BART.
5. You can take the bus (51) or you can walk.

If you're flying into San Jose (SJC)
1. Don't do it.

Make use of www.bart.gov for schedules.

What dates have you signed up for CalSO? I am going June 26/27.
