*Caltech c/o 2018 Applicants*

So does anyone have any idea of when the admission results will be coming out? I think last year it was Dec. 10 but I have heard no definite word on the date for this time around…

Last year was December 8th. No idea about this year

Yep last year was December 8th, but since that was a Saturday, there’s been some speculation that it’ll be the 7th. Did Caltech announce the date beforehand last year? I don’t want to get myself hyped up for the 7th for nothing…

I think, in the past, CalTech posted the decision release date on the Public Announcement page of their website. I really hope it comes out on the 7th!

As a note, the summer softball league run by the GSC is a ton of fun, and a great thing to take part in if you’re an undergrad sticking around for a SURF. :)

I hope decisions come out on the 7th! I think there’s a likely chance that they’ll come out on the 14th though, since for the past two years decisions have come out on the SECOND Saturday of December

don’t they always try to come out before MIT though? MIT comes out on the 14th.

^Yep, MIT is 12/14 at 12:14. Hopefully that means Caltech will be the 7th. Holy cow we could know in TWO DAYS.

I feel like they would’ve told us if it’s coming out in two days. I hope it is coming out on the 7th though!

I thought Caltech notified only one day in advance, if that. Anyone confirm/deny?

Hello all! I applied EA to Caltech, along with MIT and UChicago. I live about an hour away from Caltech by public transit, so I’m pretty familiar with the campus itself- quite small but still amazing in all its Caltech-iness. :)

I’m trying very hard not to ponder the decision release date, especially since finals are coming up and I don’t want to screw up my 1st semester grades for RD LOL.

Best of luck to all of you, and hopefully we’ll be receiving good news soon!

Good luck to all EA applicants!
Don’t forget, though, that admissions at these top-tier institutions can often be a crapshoot and sometimes, not getting in might be a blessing in disguise.
Good luck everyone!

Caltech Early Action Decisions
Early Action decisions will be released on Saturday, December 7th. The Undergraduate Admissions Office will email you when decisions are posted. You may then log in to your student applicant portal to access your decision.* Financial Aid awards will be sent as early as December 20th.Published: December 6, 2013 12:00 AM

Wow, great news! But where did you find the information? I haven’t seen anything yet.

[Caltech Caltech Undergraduate Admissions](http://admissions.caltech.edu/public_announcements/65)

My applicant portal says “We reserve the right to make a final admission decision even if required credentials are missing.” Hopefully this doesn’t mean that they denied me because my SAT scores came in a month late TT. Does anybody else have this message?

Also, what time do the results come out? If they go out around midnight - 1PM eastern time then I may just stay up to see if I got in.

Funny, the first thing I thought was “crap.”

It’s on the caltech admission website! If you google “Caltech 2013 Early Action Decision” it’s the second result.

I see the same message in my portal as well.

OK, thank you. That alleviates my worries a bit.

Ah, I see it now. I was looking in the main news section of their website… whoops. Thanks!

I guess I just want to know already, it’s really the wait that’s killing me.

@huehuehue32, I’ve seen that message ever since I logged in to my applicant portal. I’m pretty sure I don’t have anything missing, since I sent it all at least a week early, so I’d guess that everyone sees that message.

Does anyone know normally what time of day they send out the EA emails?
(morning, noon, evening???) Spending the entire day checking email every two minutes will be deadly!
