Caltech Decision Date - March 12?

It was on Saturday, March 13 last year. So would it be safe to assume that Caltech will probably release decisions on Saturday, March 12 this year?

I hope its on 3/13 this yr, but the letter say “by 3/20,” so I don’t know. Since the applicant pool increases, I think the decision date will be pushed back by a bit

Will it come via snail mail or email?

Dear Violator,

Thank you for your patience and quick response to our previous email. We now
have received all the necessary documents and your application appears to be
complete at this time. If for some reason we should find that we need
additional information, we will contact you.

We expect to mail Regular Decision admissions decisions by March 20th.

Best wishes,

Office of Undergraduate Admissions

They usually email decisions before the snail mail. So I’m keeping my fingers crossed for March 12.

It can’t be that hard to evaluate 4,000 apps, compared to 25,000+ by most of the Ivies.

You forget, much smaller school than the Ivies, much smaller admissions staff to evaluate applications.

Rate of application increase is not as high as in the Ivies.

you figured them out. they’re all lazy bums sitting around procrastinating instead of reading your application while those ivies are diligently working away at it like all good schools should. and they probably have bad breath, too, those jerks.

man, caltech sucks, doesn’t it?

Just as a note, the confirmation email for EA said they expected to release decisions by December 15th, but we got the decisions email on the morning of Sunday, December 12th.

It’s always a few days before MIT releases :)

they are going to send out admission decisions through email on Mar 20th
I think my chance is between slim and none, the only chance I have is if they really like my essay …

I doubt its going to be on March 20th. EA got its decisions a few days earlier than what they said it would be.

The best predictor of when Caltech will release its notifications is:

Read the MIT blogs for the next week or so.

I don’t think I will get in anyway, chance between slim and none …

Well MIT officially announced on their blog that they’ll be releasing decisions at 9:26PM EST on 3/14… so we can expect Caltech to release decisions in the next 5-6 days I suppose :)

It will be released the day an RD 2015 Decisions Thread is made here.

So its 2 days from when MIT has “leaked” its decision date…when exactly is Caltech announcing its own?

I don’t think Caltech typically releases its exact date. The e-mails just show up.

^For real? So the decision will just show up all the sudden? this is jst better than I thought

^ ya apparently they just send you an email to a link, you click on it and BOOM.

Yup, that’s how EA worked. I woke up on Sunday, checked my phone, and there it was… (deferred)
MIT released their decisions on the following Thursday. I think we can expect Caltech’s decisions Friday, Saturday, or Sunday…
