Caltech dual degree program with a university in China

My parent's coworker told me that at his university in China, there's a study-abroad-at-Caltech program resulting in two bachelor's degrees, one from each university.

Does anyone know what this Chinese university is?

Just curious. Thanks in advance.

It would almost certainly be Qinghua, IMO.

Lol, I should've asked him when he mentioned the program. Still, any info?

No info to the OP, sorry.

But I do have a quick, slightly off-topic question though.

Why is Tsinghua still spelled w' the Ts instead of the Q?

lol, the translating system has always puzzled me. My name has a "sh" sound in it, but it is officially spelled "hs".

Well, there's basically two major systems used, one for mainland china and one for taiwan. Older (people who's family immigrated here earlier) last names will also use the taiwan version. Plus, there's a scattering of odd spellings from ppl who got here before a clear syst was est.

I was just wondering why the mainland chinese gov still allowed the antiquated spelling instead of the one based on the syst they came up with.

I'm not aware of any study-abroad programs that Caltech has with the mainland, actually. I believe there's one for a university in Hong Kong. But Tsinghua? Really? I'd be surprised.
