CalTech e-mail (Webinar)

I just got an e-mail from CalTech (I'm a high-school junior) saying to join them on some online presentations that will be given from the director of undergraduate admissions.

It basically is asking for students and parents to join on this session.

Is this important stuff, or just typical junk mail?

I think that if you are even slightly considering Caltech, attending one or two of the Webinars will help give a picture of the academic life at Caltech and such. While they are not the most insightful things ever given, I do think they are useful- and they’re convenient because you can hop in and out of the Webinar session and you can ask questions (although whether they choose to answer yours is up to the presenter). I would say that if you have time for even 15 minutes of listening to the presentation on your computer, it is worth “attending.” I did my calc homework while listening to a presentation, so honestly, you could just put it as background music haha.

I received this email this afternoon. I might as well attend the Webinar; couldn’t hurt. I went to Caltech last week-good preview of life there.

So, this email basically went out to most people? Looks like I’ll be attending.

The webinar on going to grad school after Caltech is going on now. Come visit if you’re admitted and would like to learn more about Caltech etc (see your email). I am there :).

Ben, a math major at Caltech?!
And now in a class of under 10 at Stanford…
Wow, you’re intense. (:

75 admitted students attended and I am proud to be one of those, who have already committed to attend Caltech. :)

P.S. Ben, Wei, and the Associate Director were amazing. :)
