Caltech Essay Question

I am writing my Caltech essay about my interest in Mathematics. In my essay, I included some technical aspects of mathematics. I gave some examples of infinite series convergence and some other topics in mathematics. I made sure that these examples were pertinent and made sure to answer the prompt; however, I am still afraid that I may be hurt by how specific I went into mathematics. Do you recommend I change the essay? Thank you your advice.

Nope! It shows what you know! :)

:-P. Agree with reply if not tone. One of the best essays I ever read when I was on the committee at Caltech, which I still tell people about, was very similar in spirit. Such things (if they work well of course) tend to resonate the students and faculty that read the folders. So don't fret! :)

If the math illustrates the point, I'd say there's no reason not to use math. Ben is in a better position to judge this than I am, but seeing as he agrees with me, I feel safe saying this. Just make sure your math is actually correct. You might have somebody like Ben on the committee who's quite the math whiz even by Tech standards...

yea just dont put too much
