I applied to Caltech LIGO 2013 as an international student. I just wanted to know my chances of getting selected.

I am a second year undergraduate, majoring in computer science and I am not a US citizen.

Research Experience :

During my first year, I conducted research on the properties of ZnS nano particles. It was pretty extensive.
I compiled several articles on the application of optical fibers modified by nano particles

My grades are acceptable I guess... I have CGPA of 9.3 on 10.

I am a member of Astronomy club in my college, so I have given several presentations at Inter Collegiate competitions.

I am a scholarship (full tuition fees) student at my university.

My programming skills are pretty good in Java ,C++ and Matlab.

The application requires 2 recommendation letters. I am sure the first one is good cause it its written by the professor under whom I did the research. The other one must be okay cause its written by my math professor.(He doesn't know me as well.)

Do any of you know about other interships or summer research opportunities for non us residents/citizens. ?

Thanks :)
