I thought I’d start this thread, since there’s no such one that already exists. Does anyone know when decisions are released?
3.14.15
Pi Day? Like MIT? That would make sense I guess lol
But I don’t want double rejection in one day. I don’t think my heart can take it.
Oh yeah, that would suck. But Ivy Day is gonna be even harder to handle. @StevenToCollege
It’s already March 10th, and they haven’t even sent out the e-mail regarding the notification date yet.
First clue that they’re getting close: up to now, the announcement message on the Caltech admissions home page (http://www.admissions.caltech.edu/) had continued to invite uploads of application updates using their portal. This afternoon, it finally changed, and now says, “First-Year applicants: We are no longer accepting application updates/supplemental materials for Fall 2015.” I’d guess that’s so they can finalize the admissions decisions they’ve already drafted up.
So hopefully, it won’t be long now. (From what I can tell from past year threads, they usually release their RD decisions before Pi Day, to beat MIT. But perhaps they can’t resist honoring the “Pi Day of the Century” this year – we’ll see.)
Wow, the portal got updated.
My portal doesn’t say anything about missing/recieved materials, all it says is edit my address or upload supplemental stuff… was it always like that?
No, they just removed the missing/received materials section today.
hmmm… so no way to know if I’m missing anything?
Didn’t you check them before?
I think it was a while ago, but it was before i submitted my financial aid. I was wondering if they would have received it… and I never got an IDOC request from them
The missing/received materials section didn’t include the financial aid items.
And they only request IDOC once you are admitted.
Wait, just caltech does that or all universities that request idoc have accepted you?
As far as I know, only Caltech does that. I remember seeing it on their website.
Here is the link.

My resting heart rate has been rising each day since the beginning of this week! I don’t think I’ll be able to handle double rejection. I’ve been so on the edge all year and am on the verge of falling apart. Can’t wait to find out! And when’s Ivy Day?
I think it’s the 31st, could be wrong though. @spacelover17
Argh! I don’t think my heart can handle double rejection in less than 12 hours (between Caltech & MIT).
But who says Caltech is announcing the same day as MIT?
