I was surprised that Caltech didn’t send out an e-mail to notify the applicants of the decision date like MIT did.
Didn’t get the link for the portal. Anyone else have that problem?
Please try this one.
I think they sent it out long time ago.
Thank you @StevenToCollege. Worked great.
Only a couple of hours left…
This thread is so inactive. Let’s converse
@thebingbong yeah! uchicago’s was way more active
Do you think it’s inactive because so there are only around 7,000 applicants?
Something like that. I’m sure everyone’s just busying themselves with other things instead of worrying about admissions.
I can’t think of anything else than this. It’s passed midnight in my country but there’s no sleep for me
3 more hours!!!
Based on last year’s numbers, only 3.41% of those who applied to Caltech actually enrolled. That’s crazy because based on an 8% acceptance rate, more than half of those accepted actually reject Caltech! That would also lead me to believe the wait list might be rather lengthy.
Really? Wow, I didnt realize that! I’ll be really sad if I get rejected then, because I really wanna go there more than anything. However, I do live in the Eastern Midwest, so if I were to get in anywhere good nearby, I’d probably have to choose that over Caltech. My dad is comparing UChicago to Caltech, and says UChicago would be better because of distance (though I know very well that the physics programs, particularly the astro programs, of the two are leagues apart. Caltech is the ultimate). But…
If you’re already in at UChicago, you’re in great shape. Caltech is in my backyard practically. Can’t beat the weather either. Both are great schools.
That’s the thing though. I didn’t get in. I got wait-listed, so I feel I don’t even stand a chance at Caltech…
I’m not sure Caltech is any more difficult to get in than UChicago. You still have a shot.
Haha thanks. Hope to at least get wait-listed at Caltech…and good luck to you too!
As a general question for everyone, has anyone heard back from anywhere yet? I’ve gotten accepted to OSU and University of Michigan, and I was told by Case that I’d likely get in.
Caltech’s gonna be my first selective university I’ll hear back from. Your chances sound pretty good, @spacelover17
Have any of you gotten in anywhere else
@hopeful29 UT Austin and UMinn Twin Cities. Honors at both. Lolol.
