I was accepted to Caltech and then got a likely letter from Columbia. They were both tied for my first choice college, and now I have no idea which one to choose. Help!

-I'm planning to be a biology/biochemistry major and am considering pre-med. My ultimate goal is to be MD-PhD scientist. Which school would help me achieve that?

Personally, From being around the Caltech community it is not the absolute best place to go pre-med although its biology and biocemistry departments are very very strong. I do not know much about Columbia but I know there is no better place to study the sciences then Caltech. That said if you want to go pre med Caltech might not be the best choice.

Have you visited both? You will spend four years in college, and these two colleges are almost as different as two colleges can be. Go to the one you like. Your professional goals can be met at both; it’s now up to you.
