Caltech vs. Cal Tech vs. CIT?

Which is it? All my friends currently attending use Caltech (and in fact, deride those who spell it otherwise), but the website (and even the newletter) use Caltech, CalTech, Cal Tech, and even CIT.

So, uh, anyone have the official nickname?

Timur S.

Caltech is official, no doubt. Everything is being converted to that. CIT is sometimes acceptable but I don't like it much (and it used to stand for Carnegie Institute of Technology, what is now Carnegie Mellon). The rest are outdated.

Go Caltech!

:)

Indeed!

:)

Minor correction...CIT still stands for Carnegie Institute of Technology, but CIT is now a college within Carnegie Mellon University.

Caltech vs CIT, MIT vs MassTech, IIT vs IllTech, Georgia Tech vs GIT (or GeorgeTech) - so many possiblities!

Except no one calls MIT MassTech, and no one calls GATech GIT. :P. Caltech has been referred to as CIT by the school in its past. :P
