which school do you think is better?

I live on the east coast so I prefer MIT, although CalTech is amazing as well. The overall academic reputation and diversity of MIT can't be beat. And besides MIT is in Boston. ( I like the cold weather)

There's a huge thread of this exact thing on the MIT board right now. I'd recommend looking at that.

CalTech, less people, more respected for pure science.

neither. get a liberal arts education instead.

/yes I know it's besides the point.

Pfft, at MIT we have to take 8 semesters of humanities classes. I can't imagine people getting liberal arts educations have to take that much science...

We tech kids are still well-rounded. We just happen to be well-rounded and really good at science and engineering.

well...i love MIT and all but it's not quite the same thing. the vast majority of MIT students don't take HASS classes seriously and there's a substantial stigma against investing a lot of academic effort in the humanities and social sciences. actually, just the fact that the humanities, arts, and social sciences are all lumped together at MIT is pretty telling.

I was kidding.

Girls don't exist at neither one.

double negative? or was that your point?

i say on the common street, MIT is much more prestigious. You always hear about it in movies, shows, and like even in Counter Strike, it is like the guy has a PhD from MIT.

You even hear of it on the Apprentice, did anyone see how WOWWWED Mr. Trump was by MIT degrees.
