CalTech vs. Stanford (Biochemistry/Biophysics)

Got into both. Both are for Biochemistry and Biophysics (CalTech) or Biophysics (Stanford). Enjoyed both of the interview sessions a lot. Both have lots of professors I'd want to work with. I know this will probably be slightly biased, but give me any pros/cons there may be...This is a really hard decision.

I'm from LA, graduating from UCLA (Biochemistry), so neither is really that big of a change in terms of environment. Never lived away from home though. I know this is a really hard question to answer.

Not sure about the requirements in the bio-sciences here at Caltech, but I know in my relatively small department I’ve had to TA a few times already (third year in), though all of the classes have been 90% grad students. I imagine at Stanford you’d be a lot more likely to have to tutor Bio 101 or something of the sort.

Both schools are fantastic places, so I guess the biggest difference if you like professors and whatnot at each is what style school do you want? Do you want another large Division I school, or do you want really really small school where you wind up seeing the same people every day?

The grad students I met with told me they would mostly be entry level undergrad courses…and that the undergrads were quite strange. Hahah. Thanks.
