Camp Illumination

There are some great pictures of the second year (yearlings) in their "Indian Whites" uniforms. One of their least worn uniforms.

The USMA cadets dressed up for the formal end of summer camp Illumination Dance held Saturday night at Camp Buckner. The cadets had their runback to West Point this morning and then have leave until August 6th when they return for re-organization week that preceeds the start of the academic classes.

Here's a link to the pictures:

I have a couple of questions re: Illumination Dance. Is that dance strictly for boyfriends and girlfriends or do parents attend? Also, I've noticed some of the females wear a skirt and others wear trousers. Is that a personal choice? Do females have both skirts and trousers to wear with this uniform? I've also seen pictures of graduation where some females were wearing skirts and others were wearing trousers....

No parents at the Illumination Dance.

Ladies' choice on the uniforms.

Great pix the kids look super! Hard to believe they've a year behind them. They are like "old pro's" now.

WOW! They sure know how to clean up well. Very nice indeed. Hope they had such fun! Hey, were those fried green tomatoes with that chicken? Are all the Buckner kids at home now? If so, ENJOY!!!! Gotta love those "whites" says the Navy mom. :)

cool! I recognized a cadet from my visit... the indian guy in sunglasses, he pretty funny and was in like half the pictures on that site.

edit: saw my roommate from my overnight

edit: saw my host from my overnight... YEEE!!!

taffy,

When do you report to UIUC? If I recall correctly, the ROTC students move in several days early for orientation. Good luck and enjoy Champbana.
