Hello. I am currently studying for AP Biology. I have Campbell Bio 8th edition; I heard there is a Campbell Biology Study Guide and even an AP Bio Review Book that accompanies the textbook. Are they helpful for class, or for general like preparing for the national exam?

To me, the review book / study guide (written by Holtzclaw and Holtzclaw) was more helpful for studying for in-class tests (from the Campbell test bank).

All you need to prepare for the exam is Cliff’s.

Holtzclaw = in-class success
Cliff’s = AP exam success

I found the study guide really helpful. The Campbell book can be really wordy and bogged down with its examples, but if you’re in a hurry, then the study guide explains the information concisely. I would say the study guide is more helpful for the class. For the AP exam, I would recommend the Cliffnotes AP Bio prep book. If you know the info there, then you’re set for the exam.

I bought both "Student Study Guide for Campbell Biology & “Holzclaw’s AP Biology.” I like Student Study Guide better. How do you seperate in in-class studying and exam preparation?
