Campus and class sizes

I know that UNH is a big school, but how is the campus like? does it take long to get to class? is the land flat or hilly?^^ lol

also how are the class size? are the majority big or small? and how is the dorm life? clubs?

Just last week I visited the University of New Hampshire and although it was just a brief visit the staff at UNH consistently emphasized their class sizes by stating that for the most part classes average around 25 people, but there are some classes with 100+ and some classes with less than ten.
As for the campus it seemed very flat for the most part, and i thought it was perfect in the way the campus was spread out; not too compact and not too spread out. You should visit for yourself it’s a beautiful campus! And this is coming from someone who visited the campus on a damp, rainy day. So it must be even more beautiful on a nice day.

I hope to apply to UNH in the fall but, unfortunately with only a 3.1 GPA am very unsure if i will be admitted or not, but best of luck to you! And I really hope you consider UNH it seems like a great school!

wow! thank you! im excited to check it out!! i really dont like big schools but theres just something about UNH! ahaha

and with a 3.1 i think you should be fine if you have good test scores and other qualities!!

I sure hope so!

Oh and I forgot to mention the food is super good! The main flaw I saw with the university was town, which well unfortunately kinda sucked, but there’s nearby town called Portsmouth that is very nice and is right on the coast!

According to our tour guide the student to faculty ratio is 24:1 - a little different than average class size. They do have some large classes (200+) but they do not have many lecture halls to accommodate a class that large, so it does not happen often. Our tour guide mentioned small classes also.

The town of Durham is walking distance from the campus - small and sweet. You can get all your needs met in town. There is free buses from the campus to Portsmouth (7 miles) which is a great city on the coast with lots of shops, eateries, entertainment, and culture. There is also free busing to Newington (big box stores and movies), Dover and oh heck, I forget, but one other town also. There is also bus and train service from the campus to Boston.

I have eaten the food several times, and it is good. It’s a great campus and I am really happy that my daughter has decided to go to UNH.

i am finishing up my freshmen year here and my classes are all 120+. all of my chem labs are taught by grad ta’s that know very limited english with thick accents. i love it here though! and downtown is a cute area. there is a lot to do in the area with busses to portsmouth and trains to boston and a new bus to NYC! the walk to most classes is about 10-15 minutes but i live in the middle of no where, the sercs. so yeah. but its a great school. the sciences are great here, lots of opportunities for clubs, greeklife, and sports. easy to get involved!
