campus change?

hey guys i got my admittance letter to penn state at freaking lehigh valley. dont ask me why i applied to that campus but its probably cause i finished my app in less than an hour and just selected any campus randomly. is there any possible way to successfully be granted a campus change to u. park? i really hope so because im counting on penn state as my choice for college

well you have to complete 2 years at that campus before you go to university park (Assuming you had UP as your first choice when you applied and didnt get in) same thing happened to me and they wouldnt let me into UP (not even for summer or spring semester) so i went elsewhere

oh, no i didnt even have UP selected. so after your sophomore year do you request a campus change to UP? btw my grades are freaking horrible (below 3.0) but I did get a 2090 on my SATs.

i suppose you could write them and ask but i dont know what it would do. yes, after 2 years (i think it may be 1 in some majors) you go to UP. btw they said that gpa counts as 2/3 of their decisison so that might hurt...

so after 2 years you have to request a transfer right? youre not automatically directed to UP? i really have no idea how this multicampus system works!

well you fill out a campus change reuest (its basically a formality) and you go to UP (im sure theyll remind all the students to do it, dont worry), you dont have to reapply or anything like that. aslong as you are in good academic standing you wont have any problems...

and another thing. at some of the campuses they offer bachelors degrees in a few select subjects. say your major is on of these, you have the option of staying at the branch campus pr going to UP for your last 2 years. the cool thing is even if you decide to stay at the branch campus graduation is at UP (along with everyone else) and you get the exact same degree and stuff, pretty neat.

oohhhh i see. thats pretty cool. i guess its not so bad though i have no idea what lehigh valley is like. probably sucks or something. but its alright as long as i can get into up in 2 years. thanks for all your help. so is that what happened to you? what campus did you have to attend before getting into up?

i tried to get into UP but couldnt (i wasnt really expecting to anyways though) so i would have had to go to mont alto, basically because it was the closest to me (i live in wv) anyway i decided not to go and take a year off and im going to uconn this fall. ive heard that altoona is a good campus to go to because its close to UP so its easy to go up for football games and parties and stuff like that. you shouldnt have any trouble switching to another branch campus so you might wanna check that out if you really wanna go to psu.

alright cool. thanks for all your help. good luck at uconn.
