!! Campus Day !!

What's up other future U-Mich students?
I am currently signed up for February Campus day 2012, and since I am an out-of-state student (North Carolina's rednecks are better than Michigan rednecks, no doubt about it ;) ) I was wondering if there are other things not included in the Campus Day itinerary that I should Definitely do; whether it be a restaurant, a party (even though my dad will be with me), a campus cafeteria or a place of the campus I should visit. All suggestions are accepted!

BTW, where can I get cheap U-Mich shirts, and do they still sell the "Harvard- The Michigan of the East" T-Shirt?

Thanks and as always,
GO BLUE! (if you are color-blind, then "GO THE GRAY SHADE THAT IS 2/5 BLACK AND 3/5 WHITE!)

A cafeteria visit should be on the Campus Day tour. You won’t want to go to a party with your dad and your dad probably won’t want you to go to a party without him. I would definite look into campus events and see if there is a sporting event or a concert or other cultural event when you are in town. Audit a class. Check out the shops and restaurants on Main Street, State Street and South U. T-shirts are sold all over campus.

The store a couple doors down from the MDen on State (in direction of the diag) has those shirts. At least they did a few weeks ago. Otherwise UGP on South U might have some.

I know for sure Ulrichs has those shirts, they have a spirit shop on South U. Also respisa had a great recommendation, you should absolutely go see a hockey or basketball game if one is in town, it would be a great experience and give a good picture of the bond that exists between students.

As for where to eat? It depends on what you’re looking for. If you want a great sandwich for lunch or dinner, go to Zingerman’s or Maize and Blue. If you want a sports bar, Good Time Charlies is good. If you want more fine dining, the restaurants on Main Street are awesome.

I did campus day last year and it gave a great, accurate snapshot of university life, and it’s the reason I’m a student here now. You’ll love it!
