Campus Food

As a prospective student, can anybody give me a rundown about dining options on campus?

The Pit: The dining hall on campus. Pretty solid. Breakfast is excellent. Burgers, chicken, fries are always available. Other stuff is too but I’m a pretty unhealthy eater

Chick-fil-a: Delicious

Moe’s: Not as delicious… I’ve gone here like twice this year, total. It’s not even as good as a regular Moe’s for some reason.

Starbucks: It’s a Starbucks

Subway/POD: The only dining option open 24/7. POD is a convenience store with a fairly wide selection and it is connected to the Subway.

Zick’s: I don’t like their pizza but some people do… They also serve other things. Not open 24/7 but pretty damn late (like 2:30 in the morning or something)

Shorty’s: I’ve never been here but it’s popular. Full-on sit down restaurant. Serves alcohol

North Campus Dining: Another place i don’t go that often (I mostly eat at the pit, subway, and chick-fil-a) but it’s at least a very nice atmosphere. It’s a long walk from freshman dorms so unless you really like it you probably won’t go there often

Think that just about covers it

The Pit does have more than burgers and fries! Have eaten there a few times with our daughter, and got stir fry, some good pasta, etc. And there’s a pretty extensive salad bar and an allergy-free section that has gluten-free options and other items like veggies with no sauces. In Benson (student center) where Moe’s and Chick-fil-a are there is also a deli place that makes sandwiches. Meal swipes get you a meal in the Pit or “New Pit” (north campus), and there’s also some kind of swipe that is good for designated meals at Moe’s, Chick-fil-a, etc. Then you can add food dollars that are good for other menu items at the fast food places, and at the POD.

Is the new pit a buffet style option? Also can anybody attest to the Mag?

@HandLMum you’re thinking of Old Gold swipes! You about 60 of them each semester, very nice feature of the meal plans

what is the Mag @pmleko7222 ?

@HandLMum My bad, the magnolia room.
