Campus housing?

Hello,
Has anyone received their housing contract yet?

Contract or room assignment?
First housing contracts were emailed last year.
Room assignments will be in July.

Housing contracts for transfer students for Fall 2013. Last year, how come?

Incoming freshmen can pay housing deposit in August, so some of them got their housing contracts last year.

ah ok, thanks. I am asking for transfer housing.

There is no separate “transfer” housing. All on-campus dorms are disseminated among incoming freshmen and transfer students. One’s place in line in determined by when a prospective student turned in their housing contract. Hence YaYa’s response regarding prospective freshmen (and prospective transfer students) formalizing contracts last August. If you have not filled out an on-campus housing application by now, you will most certainly not get a dorm room. However, there are off-campus dorms, such as Dobie and Castillian, that may still be available for rent.

Still begs the question, has any transfers received housing contracts?

@Hughstan,
I’m a transfer student and I got an email couple of days ago to ask if I wanted to remain on a the “wait list.” I didn’t even know I was on a wait list in the first place lol. I did turn in my housing application at the beginning of March, after the priority deadline, so this could be why. I’ve decided to live off campus next year. I really doubt many transfers will get on campus housing unless they applied early.

I applied back in january and i also got that email saying that i was on the wait list, i know its a long shot but i really would prefer to stay on campus at least for next year. I havent searched gor off campus housing does anybody know some good places?

UT has me as an on-campus transfer student from my ApplyTexas application and my financial aid award was based on that. I never filled out the housing application and have no intention of doing so or living on campus next Fall. With that in mind, should I let them know (because of my financial aid award) that I’m living off-campus? I’ve already accepted everything, completed my Master Promissory Notes, everything…

I just want to remind you guys to remember that many freshman who join a greek life sorority or fraternity will be moving into the greek houses and spaces will be available in September most likely.

TransferHorn
Yes, you have to contact finaid office and tell them. They pay directly for on campus housing and release money to student for off campus housing. If you want your money to be released, tell them.

When was the priority deadline for housing? Was it March 1st?

I’ve received an email from the Housing Reservations Team asking if I am still interested in housing. They also said they are currently offering contracts in application date order, they will continue to offer contracts throughout the summer.

I applied for on-campus housing in May. Hopefully, I’ll get a chance because I really want to live on campus.

I’m still waiting for my email. I applied in early March so maybe I’ll get some update this week? It’s good knowing some transfers are having some luck. :)

Hughstan, that’s cool! Good luck, and let us know if/when you hear anything. You probably will get a word before me.

From talking with UT Housing, it sounds like they have begun offering housing to transfer students in the order they applied to housing.

Yesterday I was offered Supplemental Housing and I didn’t submit my housing application until late February

I was offered supplemental as well (on Friday). I applied for housing on March 1st this year.

Same here they offered me supplemental but I’ve read it’s not so bad so I’m going to take it.
