I have been offered work-study through my financial aid package. I am fully aware of the UW job center. My question is what are some jobs that enable you to "study" while working. I have heard that library positions are great for this, but unfortunately I cannot find one available. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Work study doesn’t mean you get to study while working, it means you get a job while going to school (you probably knew this, but some who read the thread may not). Library jobs probably offer the best chances for down time and chances for study time on the job, hence they likely went first. Freshmen get last choice obviously- next year you can try to snag one of the best jobs.

My D needs to find a job during school at the very least for spending money. She needs to find a job on her own, no work study. Should she already be looking for a job? She was told to wait at least until she had her schedule finalized through SOAR which isn’t until the end of July. Do most students get jobs before school starts or once they’re on campus? Thank you.

Here’s the website for the UW Student Job Center:

Also, many students get a job in their dorm. Last year at SOAR, there were Housing representatives soliciting potential student/employees to work in food service and I believe janitorial:
