Both the muhlenberg website and a campus visit have revealed very little of what there is to do on the campus. Can a current student or a parent of a current student help me out? What are the club sports, are there any non serious clubs, and are there school-sponsored trips to local cities and other activities, like skiing and other stuff like that? Thanks!

The only sport I know about is Quidditch (currently sadly on hiatus while we wait for the snow to melt) so I can’t help you with club sports… there are plenty of clubs to join. Really, anything you’re interested in, there’s probably a club for: academics, music, ultimate frisbee, politics/activism, art, writing, anything. And there’s a ski and snowboard club that does a few trips a semester to Blue Mountain and places like that.

The school does sponsor trips off-campus every once in a while, as do clubs. I think there’s at least one trip to NYC every semester. This semester I’ve gone snow tubing at Bear Mountain, and went to Philly to see the Body Worlds exhibit, and might be going to see West Side Story on Broadway in March…

As for on-campus activities, they always schedule at least one thing every weekend. There’s usually some sort of performance going on: this past weekend, I saw The Other Shore (one of the mainstage plays), a performance by the improv dance troupe Six Meters, and a bunch of students and student bands performed in the Red Door. There was also an event where you could get personalized scrub pants (crappy pants, but hey! free stuff!).

If you have any more questions, I’d be happy to answer them. :)

chelly- do you like quidditch? They’re starting a tournament at my school and i am going to play with some friends.

Also, i know you just said you don’t know much about club sports, but this ? has been on my mind so i figure i’ll give it a shot anyway. Do you know if they have club basketball/soccer as in intercollegiate? I am planning on trying out for V soccer and maybe basketball, but if they had club i feel like it would be less demanding and not as competitive as varsity, but more competitive than intramurals.

Thanks!

Quidditch is awesome. I am the least athletic person in the world and getting me to do any sort of physical activity is like pulling teeth but I am always excited to run around the lawn in my Harry Potter robes. Hahaha. Definitely play- it’s so much fun.

Unfortunately I can’t help you with the other question. Sorry!
