Dear Emory Community:

At their regular meeting on November 10, Emory's Board of Trustees gave their full endorsement to the directions laid out in our new strategic plan--a roadmap to help lead us toward our vision. At the same time, they endorsed in concept an update of the 1998 Campus Master Plan that will guide the physical development of the campus as we implement the initiatives outlined in Emory's strategic plan.

A pdf of a 32-page booklet that provides detailed information about the Campus Master Plan Update can be downloaded at http://www.emory.edu/campus_plan.cfm or http://www.fm.emory.edu/campusplan/.

A summary of the plan was printed in the November 14 issue of Emory Report and is available on the Emory Report website at: http://www.emory.edu/EMORY_REPORT/.

There will opportunities to further discuss this Campus Master Plan Update at various governance meetings this year. Congratulations to Mike Mandl's office and to all who worked so hard to put the plan together.

I trust that, like our trustees, you will find the updated plan to be exciting and responsible in managing Emory's facilities and environmental resources.Your thoughts and reactions to the concepts presented in the plan are invited.

Sincerely,

Jim Wagner
President
