Hey that's great. Thanks a lot!

thanks for the awesome pics. Princeton is just absolutely beautiful.

Very nice. For all you choosing colleges over the next months, this is one of the reasons to pick Princeton. If you are the kind of person who really needs serenity and peace brought about by harmonious surroundings, Princeton can give that to you in a way few other top schools can. Especially if you want that serenity while you are also only ~one hour from New York City....

alumother : do alot of princetonians go out to party in NY? I'm wondering, because I'm really city person, but I love princeton. If I chose to apply to princeton ED I would like to know that I have the chance of going with friends to NY and coming back the same night.

I don't know about partying, but NYC is only about an hour away from Princeton by train, so it's easy to go in and come back the same day. I'd say the typical student probably goes into the City about 2-5 times a year and a quater of the students go into the City at least once a month. Most kids party on the Street at the eating clubs, where the events are usually free to Princeton students, but students go into NYC all the time for plays, concerts, sporting events. museums, resturants, shopping, etc.

Yes, D has gone to NY 4 times so far since September - once to have lunch with my mother who was passing through, twice to functions sponsored by her residential colleges, and once with a friend. Another trip is planned soon. All the trips have been just for the day. And PDaddy is right, D also goes out to the street for parties weekend nights.

D loves Manhattan and the proximity was one of the big selling points for Princeton.

Megaman, the short train called the "Dinky" stops right on campus, so students can board there and connect with a bigger train at Princeton Junction and go straight into Manhattan. It's very convenient. Students not only go into NYC to enjoy themselves but also to do internships and thesis research on a regular basis.
