Campus Style?

How is the campus? Is it clearly seperated from the city? I have heard that it is not a very good campus, and that its baisicaly a part of the city. I want a campus that is secluded from the outside. Is this right for me? I just want to get some opinions about the campus.

There is both a city feel but also the secluded campus feel. There are some quads and places on campus where you don’t even realize you’re in the city.

Northeastern has a large and beautuful URBAN campus:

[Northeastern University Campus Map](http://www.northeastern.edu/campusmap/map/index.html)

It is a fairly well defined campus, unlike Boston University for example. No urban university is secluded from the city, not even Harvard. I think you would be happier looking in the suburbs or a college town.

For a city college, parts of the Northeastern campus feel surprisinbly non-city. But it is definitely in the heart of the city. I think that to get to some of the dorms we had to cross a very busy street. But it does not seem “strip mall-ish” like BU did when we drove by.

On the plus side, there are 4 T stops at the Northeastern campus allowing great access to public transportation. But if you are seeking secluded, it won’t fit the bill.

By all means the Campus is not secluded from the city, but when you walk around it doesn’t feel like your in the middle of the city either. It’s relatively peaceful around campus, aside during rush hours. Everything you need you can find nearby 10-20 min walk, a mall, a best buy, art supplies, gift shop you name it, it’s there.

I’d say the best part is how clean it is, and green during the spring, with tree’s blossoming and people sitting around.

On our tour we enjoyed seeing a grassy area that was part of the first baseball World series (1903) -

Hmm… this is a neat site. Includes indoor and outdoor photos. Here are some nice ones showing campus (shown during beautiful weather, as done on all college websites)/
