Campus Theatre, etc.

So lately for me, it seems like at every school I've visited (Dartmouth, Middlebury, etc.), the ONLY campus nightlife present is heavy drinking, specifically at frat parties. I understand drinking is part of college - and I have absolutely no problems with that whatsoever - but when I visited Yale recently, there was relatively more diversity in terms of campus nightlife, with a lot of student theatre and comedy shows going on.

Granted, most of the schools I'm looking at (Save CA schools) are smaller schools in the Northeast, and with most LACs in more rural areas (thus with less off-campus goings-on), I understand that there aren't many outlets for weekend entertainment.

Also, I know I might just not be experiencing enough when I've visited campuses, and I haven't visited that many schools yet, so this may come off as extremely naive....
But could anyone vouch for another Ivy or top LAC with a relatively diverse campus nightlife?

You might find more varied activities in an urban LAC (Macalaster, Occidental??) but I can’t vouch for it. And then you may have less bonding among students because people are going to clubs in the city. Middlebury doesn’t have frats but I understand that the party scene could feel that way. There are lots of theater and music performances, environmental group activities and lectures (check the Middblog for examples) but you won’t find everyone interested in them. If YOU are interested, you can find them at any LAC. I noticed on the Wesleyan blog (Wesleying I think—not sure what it’s called) that they seem to have a lot of student bands and music events. The blogs are student run, so it allows you to see what (at least some) students are talking about doing.
