I'm a brand new member. Our son will start at Gainesville in the fall, and we live out of state. To visit campus, we flew to Jacksonville and rented a car for the 80 mile drive. Does anyone know if there is any kind of shuttle that makes that trip for students? The cost and frequency? Thanks, reading all your posts has been really helpful. Now we're just sweating out the housing, he applied for it only two weeks ago!

hmmm is there a way you can connect to Gainesville Regional Airport?

Fewer airlines go there, there are more stops, and it's more expensive. He could do it if he had to. Is there a shuttle to campus from Gainesville Airport?

The university doesn't have shuttle service to the airport but I think the local hotels (some of them, the most expensive ones) have shuttle to the g'ville regional. I would call a hotel like Hilton and see if they know of any shuttle service to Jacksonville or the other airports. I know people fly into Orlando international so you might want to try that too.

This link is a shuttle service between UF and Jacksonville Airport:

Also, I saw an add in The Alligator that advertised a UF to Jacksonville shuttle for $32 each way (very cheap). It is called "Signature Shuttle" and the phone number is 352-219-8778

Thanks, that's just what I was looking for!
