I’m going to visit Clemson in a few weeks and I would like some campus visit recommendations. What should I see on campus besides Death Valley? What are some good local places to eat? Has anyone tried Mac’s Drive In? It was featured on Todd’s Taste of the Town (a segment on the primetime ESPN 2 college football game). Also, where is the student store or bookstore located (wherever you go on campus to buy Clemson T shirts).

P.S.
Does anyone know if Clemson's football practices are open to the public. If so, does anyone know when they start fall practice (note: fall practice begins in late July/ early August)?

definitely go to Mac’s Drive In. The food is solid (get a cheeseburger) and it’s definitely a Clemson area tradition. It’s in Pendleton, SC though which is a town next to Clemson so it’s a short drive away. Another good place to check out is the Esso Club in Clemson.

The student bookstore is located in the Hendrix Student Center (they’ll show it to you on the campus tour, it’s right next to the High Rise dorms). Also in the Hendrix Student Center is the Class of 55 Exchange which is an ice cream store that sells Clemson-made ice cream and blue cheese so you should get some ice cream there. T-shirts are expensive at the bookstore though. Go downtown (next to Bowman Field) and buy t-shirts at stores like Mr Knickerbocker.

Hmm what should you see on campus? We have a botanical garden just off campus if you’re interested. There’s Fort Hill where Calhoun lived and there’s Lake Hartwell.

I have no idea if Clemson football practices are open to the public. I know they’re there in early August at least. Maybe you can call the athletic department to get an answer? (864-656-2114)

Where is MAc’s drive-in located

Never mind, did not read the post close enough

Physical address is 404 Pendleton Road
Clemson,SC 29631

haha dang my bad, well it’s definitely closer to downtown Pendleton than downtown Clemson even though it still is in Clemson (aka it’s a short drive away)
