<p>Campus visit is scheduled but need a place to stay. When possible and available we have stayed at campus hotels. These have been very convenient for walking around campus on our own and getting a better feel for campus and are usually very nice places to stay.</p>
<p>Is that true at Alabama (The Hotel Capstone)?</p>

<p>I don’t know of any special rates for campus visitors. The rates at the Capstone seem to fluctuate depending on whether there is a competing big event going on.</p>
<p>the hotel is situated in the southwest area of the campus. That’s not close to where the tour starts - Student Services bldg (the northwest area of the campus). If it’s a hot day, you probably won’t want to be walking from the Capstone to the Student Services building. However, the Capstone does offer a shuttle service, so if you arrange for them to drive you over in the morning of your tour, you should be fine.</p>

<p>The Ambassador Inn also has great rates on non event days and gets great ratings. It’s a relatively new hotel and well run. It’s on Skyland about a half mile down from where the Fairfield Inn, Courtyard and Hilton properties are.</p>
