Campus Visit!!!!

Hi!
I am going to be visiting Cornell in about a week, and I am SUPER excited!
I was thinking about packing, which got me thinking about what I should wear.
What, in general, do people wear on campus visits? Is it the general high school look of jeans and a sweatshirt, or is it nicer?
This may sound superficial, but I want to make a good first impression if I meet the admissions people. I am interested in Hotel School, and I read somewhere on CC that all the hotelies dress up. Maybe I am just thinking about this too much, but I want to make sure I don't blow my application with a bad first impression.
I am also visiting UPenn (Wharton), NYU (Stern), Princeton, Boston U, and MIT (Sloan). I would appreciate any clothing advice for these places as well.
Thanks for your help!

Are you having an interview? If so, dress appropriately. If you're just doing the tour/info session, wear whatever you like. They do not take your name or anything, so don't worry about making a bad impression.

If you intend to drop by the Hotel School, I'd dress more professionally than jeans. Will you attend an info session at the Hotel School? I went to one at CALS and there weren't many students visiting that day. They did have us fill out papers, so I was very glad that I'd dressed up more. If you won't have any info session there, go for comfort and jeans.

Good Luck!

College is really just like high school. I'd dress to feel comfortable/fit in, so whatever you feel best in would be great. If you're just doing tours, bring regular day clothes. If you're getting hosted by someone, you could also bring something to wear at night.

wear clothes, any kind, no one cares =).

^and then the OP shows up in a suit of armor "It's a family heirloom!"

haha that's be cool

^ and then the OP has to walk up Libe.....

oof.

also, whats the weather like there right now? i live in arizona so its always hot here, how warmly do i ahve to dress when i visit next month?

Late March/early April is really a wildcard time at Cornell. It could be sunny and 65; there could be a blizzard. But based on recent weather I'd say it's going to be something like "light sweatshirt" clothing. Bring an umbrella just in case.

If you're not coming for an interview....you can dress casually, just make sure your outfit is appropriate for the weather.

You're going to do a lot of walking...so be sure to wear comfortable shoes.

In my time as a CALS ambassador I saw prospective students dress in everything...from dressy to a little bit too casual (I don't recommend the later ;) ).
