Campus Visit

hey guys,
i am thinking about visiting cornell soon and listening in on one of the information sessions. i was wondering if they would give tips regarding admissions and what they are looking for in students. i don't think i will be able to make the general university info session, but i think i may go to the engineering session.

Also, what is the major difference between CAS and CALS? COE is definitely my first choice, as im interested in chemical/environmental engineering, but i was wondering if CAS or CALS would be a better choice to apply for the alternate college.

sorry for the long post, but thanks a lot.

during information sessions, they do talk about admissions for a while. but i don’t remember hearing anything that i didn’t already know. but nonetheless, you get many useful pamphlets, so it’s a good idea to go.

as for the major difference between CAS/CALS, CALS is more concentrated in agriculture and the life sciences. CALS also has AEM, which is Cornell’s undergraduate business major. CAS is liberal arts.

Hm, CALS and COE have a joint major called Environmental Engineering, so if that’s what your interested in, that seems like your best bet, no? And for Chemical Engineering, you’d have to go solely through COE.
