Campus Visits vs Campus Days

Can anyone tell me the difference between attending a campus day opposed to an arranged campus visit?

On campus day you will be in a large group and the admissions counselors will speak to all of you about a number of topics and questions will be taken. You will go out on tours of 1-3 families per guide. Afterward the various academic departments will have faculty on hand that you can speak with about the various majors here at Rose.

If you just do a separate campus visit you will sit down 1 on 1 with an admissions counselor and go out on a tour with just your family. They may be able to arrange an appointment with a sports coach and/or faculty member if you’re interested in speaking with a particular department.

It sounds like campus visits are the way to go, but really going on a campus day has a couple of benefits: the fact that you get a chance to meet faculty from the different departments and also you get the benefit of not just asking the questions that you can think of, but also if someone else has a pertinent question that you may not have thought of that will also get answered.

Can’t really go wrong with either option. If a campus day works with your schedule do that, otherwise schedule an appointment.

I recommend a campus visit instead of one of the campus days. I have done both and found the campus visit a lot more informational and helpful.

If you are an admitted senior looking to make your final decision, please plan on scheduling a campus visit. An individualized visit will allow us to focus on what you and your family want to see. I am currently hosting a young lady who wants to play softball and major in electrical engineering. Her tour guide is our top softball player, she is set up to meet one-on-one with one of our EE profs, will meet with the softball coach, and get some time to meet with me (probably the worst part of her day). That is the type of visit you need as an admitted senior to be armed with the info necessary to make your decision. If you have any questions, please let me know.

That sounds great. My son is an admitted student and we are in the process of trying to schedule a visit. He is a baseball player, so if we check the baseball schedule against when we plan to visit is it maybe he can visit with a player as well. That would be helpful. It is just difficult trying to find a time to visit that works with his baseball schedule.
