Campus?

How nice is the campus of Temple? Ive toured a lot of city schools (Fordham, BU, Northeastern, GW, etc) and those all have beautiful campuses that mesh well with the city. Is Temple the same? is there green space, nice buildings, etc.?

Penn and SJU both have really nice campuses, but I haven’t heard much about schools in Philly like Temple and Drexel.

Drexel is adjacent to Upenn, nice area. The Temple campus is very nice and there has been a lot of investment in upgrades/construction in recent years. The area surrounding the campus in North Philly is not great, but it seems like the campus keeps expanding gradually outward as the years go by, and the area is improving. On the plus side, there is good public transit (train/bus) and it is very easy to get to other parts of the city. Temple has great school spirit and sports are popular. It’s academic reputation is growing. My youngest is starting as a freshman this fall and although we were concerned initially about it’s location, we were very impressed during our visits, especially at an accepted students day that we attended. Temple works very hard to help students locate internships/job shadowing opportunities and the city location is a big plus. They also work hard to educate students about safety and provide security escort to students.

I have to agree, we were impressed with the campus at the Experience Temple Day. The campus itself is very nice and while the surrounding area is sketchy, the campus police extensively patrol the campus and several blocks around it. The university is making an effort to create more green space in the coming years. Google, “Visualize Temple” and you should find the details of their plans. Many city schools are surrounded by less-than-desirable areas, so once DD decided she like the city-vibe, we looked for campuses that made a point of explaining how they keep the students safe. Temple seemed to be the most pro-active of all the ones we visited. Good luck!

agreed with above, my son in entering junior year so he has hands on experience of how safe campus is
