can $10 essay be sent in after 1/1?

I'm doing the $10 question on a medium other than essay. Since post office is closed on Sunday (1/1), I will need to send it in after the deadline. Do you think they will take it? Or should I just write an essay?

Yes, you can send the essays in up to two weeks past the deadline.

Alright, but so then should I submit my supplement and just write "will send supplemental essays by mail"?

from the way I read it, essays must be submitted today. I believe it is only teacher recs, counsellor rec, and transcript that can be late.

Does anyone know for sure? AHH. Because the only way you can send the $10 answer in another medium other than essay is by snail mail, which means earliest date is 1/2. I'm not even sure if on 1/2 post offices are opened since they might be observing the new year. Slorg, where did you find that out?

there are 5 threads for this 10 dollar essay.
o_O in response to ur question i am pretty sure u can send it by snail mail up to 2 weeks late (postmarked).

They say on their website they'll take it on the 2nd because of the first being a holiday :)

does anyone have an official link/website/source/laxfan post that says that the essay can be postmarked up to two weeks late?

As for the postmark deadline - before anyone heads to the post office today,

THANKS! That rocks! I'm not quite ready to submit my essays yet anyway...

I think that means extra essays...thats how I read it anyways since the $10 essay is part of the supplement that it says should already be submitted...

except if you did the common app, the supplement essays are optional, which i think would mean it would be okay if it was like 1 day late.

and they say there's no discrimination against the commonapp...well, in this case, the school's app...

official answer -- I just checked.

The deadline was to have your Part I and Part II of the JHU application submitted (or Common Application and supplement).

The other materials (recs., transcript, test scores) can be sent within two weeks of the deadline. This also relates to essays.

SIMPLY THOUGH SEND EVERYTHING IN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Nothing later than Jan. 16 though.

laxfan, have I ever told you how much you rock?
