Well can it?

I think getting 750+ and having a B represents laziness to a certain extent...esp if it's a General course.

But I don't think colleges will scrutinize your app to a point that it's like "Hey look! this guy got a B in Chem when he scored 800 on the SAT II! He must be lazy!"

One B won't hurt you.

I have 8 B's, but not because of laziness, and 7 of them are in two semesters. I have a legitimate reason, which is why I wanna know if SAT IIs can help legitimize a case.

nope, looks like it's community college for you.

oasis, i understand your point, but at the same time, one might surmise that the class was difficult/the teacher graded tough because a 750 shows excellent understanding of the material.

i think you will be fine. it's too late to do anything about the B, so whatever.

I suppose, if your reason is good. At my school, the girl ranked fifth got A's in AP Calc, AP USH and AP Spanish, but didn't crack 700 on any SAT in those SAT II's. 750+ is awesome, and would definately mitigate some B's, as long as there is a good explanation. What is your reason?

Thanks for the humor, but I'm not dumb enough to assume that B's keep me from top colleges, however, 8 Bs bring me to a 3.6 when calculated by Stanford's stats.

My excuse regards my father's health (mental) that's continuing to deteriorate. I'm hoping to mitigate my worse grades last semester and the one before that with a 4.0 this semester (achieved), high SATs (achieved), and hopefully, high SAT IIs.

Feel sorry for you dad... I have a mom whose like that
