Can a 3.77 get me into G-town, Lehigh, Fordham?

Hi everyone. Please tell me your honest opinion on my chances at the above mentioned schools, here are my stats:
-Purdue U business major
-transferring for sophmore fall '08(freshman now)
-3.77 gpa on 13 credits(taking 18 next semester)
-3.2 hs gpa(sigh)......1180/1600 sat(sigh,again)
-took all honors in hs, no aps
-lots of comm. service, two jobs over the last 3 years
-in about 3-4 clubs now at university(mostly volunteering)

thanks

Fordham, decent chance

did you get a 420 on the SAT writing section? that will hurt you in admissions.

no, i got a 590 on math, 590 on reading comp and 590 on writing....i think g-town only considers two of them(so out of 1600)..

any1 else??

you are right, GU only looks at V+M. a 1180 is still low, actually too low, for georgetown...it will be less important if you are older (i.e junior transfer, been out of school in between for a while) but otherwise it might screw you. a 3.77 GPA is good, but a 3.7 is the average, so you are only slightly above average with heinous SATs. it doesnt look to hot with GU, but Lehigh and Fordham are a lot lot lot more likely. id say Fordham is almost a lock and lehigh is a good match. best of luck.

Did you take no APs because your school didn't offer them or because you chose not to?

I think that GU is likely if you have a good essay and letter of recommendation. You are a transfer so your sat scores dont matter that much.

i took pretty much all honors.i went to a public school that offered ap's but i didnt get serious about high school until junior year, so thats why.
so the feeling is...

Fordham-very good chance, almost definite
Lehigh-decent chance
Georgetown-outside chance

*Would i have a better chance applying to the Georgetown college of Georgetown university(can major in econ)or the McDonough school of business of Georgetown university?

obviously, econ... lol

yeah, i will apply as economics major...if i get accepted(10-20% chance right?), i could try an internal transfer by the end of soph. year, since its all liberal arts cirriculum the first two years...

You "should" get into Lehigh. If you're worried, apply to the College of Arts in science where you can major in Economics, but get a B.A. If you get into Lehigh under CAS, just transfer to the business school after your first semester. It's easy. I had two friends do it.

mcdonough is easier as a freshman, might be as a transfer as well

i actually have a similar question but for a different school. which is easier to transfer into at northeastern university- arts and sciences (economics major) or school of business? I'm taking both microeconomics and macroeconomics this up coming semester.

i just read on another forum the transfer rate is slightly better for mcdonough.....
