Do you think that a 65 year old man can be successful at UCLA. Or do you think the age difference will/can hurt him.

succeed how?

career wise? no, at 65 your career is over, a degree won’t mean much
socially? no, it won’t be the same as being 18.
academically? yes, of course.

@bomerr By success, I mean the american pie college experience? Can he have the traditional college experience by making social connections and meeting new people all while learning?

no

@bomerr By american pie experience, I meant parties, sex, drugs and rock n’ roll.

hell no

@bomerr How can a 65 year old man overcome his age to have a traditional party school experience?

He could offer to buy drugs for everyone.

@bomerr Do you think you a 65 year old man has a chance with a beautiful 23 year old girl?

Ive seen a few olderman with younger women but they’ve been extremely wealthy.

@bomerr Do you think a yearly income of 300,000 is enough for UCLA girls?

ya i think that would do it.

Are you secretly a 65-year-old man?

Because if you are, that’s A-OK. You still got into UCLA! :P

This post made my whole morning :)) :))
Sex, drugs, and rock & roll was more a 1960s counterculture theme lol.
The sex and drugs are still there but I think the music has changed a bit.

@bomerr @Cayton I actually meant 77

I have so many questions about why you posted this so randomly…Who are you asking for? Is it a joke? Why did you post twice, but with different ages?

Obviously you already know an old man can’t have a traditional college experiences. That would be kind of creepy if he wanted to…

Is this a serious question?

The answer is no. Sounds like they’ll only get the academic experience. They might not even have the time to consider that traditional path.

@music1990 @ocnative Yeah, I had just come back from a party. I wasn’t in all of my senses!

Despite the clear attempt at humor here, I wanted to address those who were serious about a 60+ old man not being able to succeed at/after college. You are wrong. There have been countless people over 60 that have earned a degree and spent their last 20 years in a successful career based upon that degree.

It’s fine to be funny and all, but there’s still older people who find their way into these threads and when they see blanket statements like, “hell no” they might not realize how misleading that is, and that it’s coming from some pimple-faced, immature kid who knows nothing about life yet.

Just saying, college can be completed at any age and you can be successful at any age. Period. I’ve seen it happen first hand, by a 63 year-old man who completed his degree and went on to open a successful accounting business for 15 years before eventually passing away, having fulfilled his dream in his 60’s-70’s.

how much did he party tho?
