right know im in my first year, and i can't decide what do to. I am thinking about business and something in the medical field, which i heard biology was the easiest path. If i ever double major, can a class count toward both majors? lets say chem or bio (not intro) but higher level.

Are you a high school freshman?
The same courses can count towards any degree. This is why many people have double or triple majors. A lot of the courses (electives and required) are shared.
I took Biology and Biochemistry. Only a few courses were needed for the Biochemistry degree.
A lot of people major in Biology. The grading is not as brutal as engineering. The material prepares you for the MCAT. It helps during the basic science courses of medical school, but only to an extent. All I knew of college Biochemistry was covered in two weeks of medical school. However, having to spend less time on a course, gives you more time to study for something else.
The down side is some introductory courses are “weed out” classes. The competition can be fierce. And make sure that medicine is what you want, because a BS or BA degree in Biology gets you a low paying job in a lab if you are lucky. You will need to go on to professional schools like MD, DO, OD, DDS, Pharmacy etc. Some people segue into Medical Technology which pays decent. In fact all the Technology programs lead to well paying and gratifying careers (Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy etc.) So you need another degree after the bachelor. You may have no choice - loan repayment starts six months after completion of your undergraduate degree. This is manageable if you went to a state school or were on a scholarship.

You need to ask at your UG.
