Can a college decline your acceptance after they recieve your final transcript?

Here's the deal: I was accepted to Rutgers a few weeks ago, but I'm taking 2 summer courses, Statistics and Anatomy & Phys 1 during a 5 week period. Let's just say I've had too much fun the past few weeks and my grade in Stats in not exactly ideal. There's 2 weeks left in the class and I'm literally clueless on 90% of the material.

I've never failed a class before and it's really bothering me and I don't think I can make a turn around in the next 2 weeks. So, for all practical purposes, if I get an F in the class, can Rutgers decline my admission even though I've already been admitted? Has this happened to anyone on here before?

I need some advice, badly. Thanks.

Yes, they can. Last year, my sister had her admittance rescinded from UC Davis after she received a D in her Stats class (since it fulfilled the UC math requirement).

Absolutely they can.

Yep, but sometimes the college will make a deal with you to allow you to retake the course in summer school and then give you back your admission. I know a girl that that happened to with Furman.

The best thing to do, is go up to the teacher and say “I’m absolutely lost right now. What can I do to improve my grade? Is there any extra credit?” You probably won’t lose admission for a C… but for an F, you very well could.

Thank you for the responses. I guess literally nothing but studying for the next 2 weeks. :frowning: lol

What’s worse is those grades will count toward your college GPA. Most people take summer courses to improve their college GPA. It will matter when you are looking for a job or applying to graduate school.
