I got into the school I wanted and signed up for orientation and everything. I have good grades, but if they see that I got a low grade in my last trimester of high school will the college revoke my admission?

I wouldn’t say it’s likely, but if you failed a course that was required, it could be an issue. Your future college’s website might have info about this.

If it is a problem, offering to take summer school or a remedial course at college might keep your admission from being revoked.

I know a girl who was going to go to Furman and they put her on probation. I was thinking she got an F in AP Calculus, but that couldn’t have been possible or else she wouldn’t have graduated. My school requires all seniors to pass their classes in order to graduate. She must have gotten a D- or something. Anyways, Furman semi-revoked her acceptance. She enrolled in summer school somewhere and retook Calculus and made a decent grade in it, and they let her come in the fall, but she didn’t know if she was going to be able to go until late July.

the class in is just an online class, nothing required. I’m just wondering if I failed it if my university would see this as a problem. As of right now I have a 3.8 GPA

Contact the U. Failing could very well be grounds for revoking your admission.

And yes, they really do do that.

can they and will they are two very different questions.

Can they? 100% resounding yes.

Will they? Much more gray. Actually failing a course is definitely a red flag that won’t go unnoticed though. Can’t tell you for sure what they will do with that though.

If they did, it’s not because your GPA would be “too low” it’s because it says something about your character if being admitted to school caused you to completely change your current behavior and fail a course. It says very negative things about your motivations and passions for academic pursuit.
