I really want to visit a school but my family’s budget is really tight this month. Can that college possibly reimburse me for the airfare? I’m going from the East Coast to the Midwest
Is this an accepted students’ event? Some colleges do it, others don’t. Contact their admissions office? I only hear of colleges doing it for prospective applicants in the case of recruited athletes.
@woogzmama Yes, it is an admitted students open house event. Are the chances low to get a reimbursement? It’s a top private school, too.
Can? Yes, Will? Not always. You have to ask. Talk to your admissions officer, thank him/her for the wonderful offer and how you are pretty sure you want to go there and want to get a look last look at schools, but funds are low for travel.
You have to email them and ask whether they’d help you pay for a “fly in” to decide whether you want to attend or not. Explain your justifications.
