Hi all,
Recently, I noticed that on the catalog of my desired major of a school I plan to transfer to, it was stated that I must have two courses completed prior to attending. One of those courses is a two-semester course, and I would not have time to complete it before my first semester at the school would start. I talked to a faculty in the department of the major, and they seemed fairly confident that the admissions offices don’t take into account specific class requirements for respective majors, and told me that they would not reject an applicant on the basis of not having completed the courses. According to that individual, the most they would do in that case is admit me as undeclared and I would be able to declare my major once I took the required courses.
So I just wanted to make sure this is accurate, and ask if I should still apply regardless of the circumstances. In all honesty, I’m not very familiar with what criteria admissions offices use to evaluate transfer students, so I wasn’t sure on this one. Thanks for any help or clarifications in advance!
