Can a friend an I write our essay on the same thing to the same school????

Our essays will be very, very different

I would write it on a male talent show/ spoof of Ms America (its called Mr West).

The school is Northwestern. He is writing his on how it was an unpopular decision for him to do mr west. I am writing mine on how I deviated from my original path(i was originally supposed to be in his act, but I then created my own)

What worries me is that we are probably the only 2 kids in our school applying to Northwestern. Only 3 kids from our school have ever applied. Now he has already written his, and i would write on a different topic if I thought it was unfair to him

Would writing completely diffferent essays on relatively the same topic hurt either of our chances of admission?

I don't think it should. I've heard that you aren't compared against people from your own school directly, but more the region or the entire American country.

So long as it's distinctively different, it shouldn't matter if it's about the same topic.

I talked to an adcom who said he read a dozan essays on the same small town football game one year. I think it's fine; it would be interesting to read the two.
